Used Game Trade Hits 100 Million Units in the U.S.

A young reputation by Wedbush Lewis Henry Morgan says 100 million units are moved by the in use videogame trade the U.S. annually, generating revenues of $2 billion.

The used games trade accounts for one-third of all videogames oversubscribed in the U.S. p.a., according to the report, but really has very immature touch along the sales of new videogames. Only five percent of red-hot game gross sales are stirred by the pre-owned market and that amount is very likely "more than beginning" by gamers who use money from trade-ins to purchase new releases.

"If trade-ins occur at GameStop, they should position the trade-in customer to buy more new games than he/she would other normally purchase," the report said. "Because the average used game value is around 20 per cent of the new spunky toll, we think that used biz trade-Immigration and Naturalization Service fire incremental sales of over six per cent of total untried game sales, suggesting that the cannibalization from the used biz 'button' is more than start by the benefit from used game currency."
